Effective date: October 8, 2026
1. Who we are. Ezo Hazel Plantner ("the Tool", "we") is a free web tool for planning hazelnut orchards, operated by Ezo Hazel Orchard in Japan. Contact: contact@ezohazel.com.
2. What we collect and store.
- Your plans stay in your browser. The sites, layouts, favorites, settings, language and unit choices you enter, and a record of your agreement to these documents (when you use the map feature), are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not receive them. If you clear your browser data they are erased, so use the Backup function to save a copy to your own device.
- No accounts, no cookies, no ads. The Tool has no sign-in, does not set cookies for tracking, and does not show advertising.
- No usage tracking of your plans. The Tool does not send what you plan (sites, trees, varieties, layouts) to us or anyone else. The only measurement is the anonymous page-view count described in section 4. If we ever add anything else, it will be optional (opt-in) and described here before it starts.
3. Services the Tool connects to. To show fonts, maps, elevation and address search, your browser connects directly to the third-party services below. Because of how the internet works, your IP address and browser information are visible to these services, and the map areas you view or the address you type are sent to them. We do not control their handling of that data; please see their own policies.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — typefaces.
- Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (cyberjapandata.gsi.go.jp, msearch.gsi.go.jp, mreversegeocoder.gsi.go.jp) — maps, elevation and address search in Japan.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) — address search in the United States.
- Amazon Web Services (s3.amazonaws.com) — elevation tiles.
- U.S. Geological Survey (basemap.nationalmap.gov) — maps in the United States.
4. Hosting. The Tool is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, processes standard web-server logs (such as IP address, requested page and time) to deliver and protect the service. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service that counts page views, countries, referrers and page-load speed in aggregate to help us improve the Tool. It does not use cookies or local storage for tracking and does not build profiles of individual visitors. It never sees the contents of your plans. If you email us at contact@ezohazel.com, we receive your email address, your name (if you give it) and your message. This is personal information. We use it only to reply to you and keep a record of the exchange, and we handle it with care and in accordance with applicable personal-information protection laws. We do not use it for any other purpose or share it with third parties, except with your consent or where the law requires.
5. What we do not do. We do not sell your information, do not build advertising profiles, and do not ask for or store your name, address or payment details. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; the Tool is not directed to children.
6. Your choices. You can erase everything the Tool stores by clearing your browser's site data for this website. You can also block the third-party connections above with your browser settings, but maps and address search will then not work.
7. International users. We operate from Japan. Data we receive (such as server logs) may be processed by Cloudflare in other countries.
8. Changes. If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. If we start collecting anything new, we will say so here first.
9. Contact. Questions or requests about this policy: contact@ezohazel.com.
